2511 Bronxwood Ave., Bronx, New York
The "Scala Sancta," at Rome, consists of 28 white
marble steps. According to tradition, this staircase once
led to the Praetorium of Pilate at Jerusalem, hence sancti-
fied by the footsteps of Our Lord during His Passion.
An imitation of the "Scala Sancta" has been erected
in the Lourdes of France, and now another one has been
erected in the Lourdes of America. It is the most beau-.
tiful "Scala Sancta" ever built and more than 50 thousand
people visit this wonderful Shrine every week.
