The Indian Church at Sandia was built several
hundred years ago by Spanish Missionaries and
services are still held there. The pueblo occupies
a gentle rise from the bottom lands on the west
bank of the Rio Grande. It may be easily seen
as the train approaches the small station of
Alameda, a short distance above Albuquerque. The
population is about 150.
