CARTE POSTALE.
Madras, Chepauk Palace. This handsome building of
Moorish style was once the property of the Nawabs of the
Carnatic, but on the death of the last ruler the property
lapsed to the Crown, and is now used as the offices of the
Board of Revenue. A statue of Queen Victoria faces the
Palace, being a replica of the Boehm Jubilee statue at
Windsor. It was presented to the city by the Rajah of
Vizagapatam.
