Lieutenant of Ireland, and the centre of Dublin Social
Life, is situated amid well laid out and carefully tended
grounds in the Phoenix Park. Close by are various
memorials, including the Wellington Monument and the
Phoenix Column, the latter erected by Lord Chesterfield
in 1745.
