A Cool Resting Place. This delightful spot, a pleasant
relief in the flat sandy environs of Cairo, is one of several
agreeable tracts in the vicinity of that town. Vegetation
is rare in Egypt, but it usually flourishes in the neigh-
bourhood of water. Especially is this so on certain parts
of the waterworks of the Nile, where extensive gardens
and flower-beds are laid out.
