PRIVATE MAILING CARDKA
Greetings from one of California's
foremost historical show places.
Dear Bobby
M Situated at the foot of Webster street on
Oakland's waterfront stands John Hein-
old's First and Last Chance Bar. Built over
eight decades ago from the remains of an
old whaling ship first used as a bunk house
for the men working the oyster beds off
the east shore of San Francisco Bay. It is
one of Oakland's oldest landmarks, a
small, one-story shack of a building unique
in construction and famous for memories
of such men as Jack London, Robert Louis
Stevenson, Joaquin Miller and Rex Beach,
P.S. I don't care if we did meet
in this Dump in aught three-
you're still the form on my
stlaw bee. Love you - Jock!
