Erected in 1785, owned and occupied by Rich-
mond Randolph Lodge No. 19, A. F. & A. M. is
the first edifice ever built in the United States
exclusively for Masonic purposes. The records of
this lodge show that John Marshall, Gen'l. La-
fayette, together with many other statesmen,
soldiers and citizens of international renown
have attended its stated communications.
