bady Blanche was a daughter of the Earl of Gainsboro. She
eloped with the Earl's organist, Thos. P. Murphy. They came
to America and finally drifted to North Conway. They bought
the above house, which is situated directly in front of Hump-
phrey's bedge, and in it bady Blanche dled in March, 1881.
