Humphreys County, the second county to be established in West Tennessee, was formed by Act of legislature on Nov. 14, 1819. It was named for Perry W. Humphreys who was active in political and community service 1807-1836. It is one of the largest and most diversified counties of Tennessee. Bordering the famous Kentucky. Tennessee Lake and Dick River. It offers the best in recreational facilities and unusual hunting opportunities.
