The Anzalduas Flood Control Diversion Dan is located on the Lower Rio Grande near Mission, Texas. It was constructed and is operated by the Governments of the United States and Mexico through their respective Sections of the International Boundary and Water commission, United States and Mexico, for the benefit of both countries. Construction tool place during 1957-59, and the dam became operative in March, 1960. Estimated coast of the dam and its related facilities amounted to $4,492,970, shared equally by the two countries. Anzalduas is another example of United states-Mexican cooperation which is administered by this joint commission. |
