Ireland Army Hospital, a 500-bed facility was dedicated on 1
April 1957 and was named in honor of Major General Merritte
Weber Ireland, The Surgeon General from 1918 to 1931. This
hospital is completely modern in its design and has the latest
equipment. The style of architecture is contemporary. The
hospital is equipped with its own radio program distribution
system, which transmits radio programs to 611 radio outlets and
speakers. All wards are equipped with television receivers.
staff of over 750 professional and administrative personnel are

The cafeteria-style dining room serves all patients and staff, over
610 persons at one time. This hospital is fully accredited and
certified by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospitals.
