The "Resolute" arrived on time this morning,
at Colombo after a smooth passage across the Bay
of Bengal, as advised in a cablegram, just received.
On the voyage from Rangoon the joyful days
and nights continued with a Bridge Tour-
nament, a Shuffle-board Tournament, Lectures,
Travel Talks and Dances on Deck.
During the next four days your friends are
enjoying the tropic beauty of lovely Ceylon, motor-
ing over splendid roads through the Jungle, visiting
the old up-country capital of Kandy, with its
temple of the Tooth of the Buddha, and luxuriating
in the splendid Galle Face Hotel on the shores of
the Indian Ocean.
Then on to India.
UNITED AMERICAN LINES
COLOMBO, on the island of Ceylon, is a very colorful
city. The houses are a dazzling white, the earth a fiery red
and the sky a deep blue. Adam and Eve, so tradition says,
came here after their expulsion from Eden. Kandy is the
political capital of Ceylon, and the road which leads there
from Colombo, traverses some of the finest scenery in the
world.
