A cablegram from Sandakan reports THEATRESO-<
lute's" arrival on time at this herfst sort of
tropical Borneo after a smooth sage from
Manila with clear weather and a temperature, of
85 degrees.
A Ball was given in honor of the "Resolute"
passengers at the splendid Manila Hotel, and the
automobile drives in our Far Eastern colony gave
them a prideful thrill, and in turn great numbers of
visitors from shore admired the beauty of the
"Resolute".

Between Manila and Sandakan the festivities
continued with a Deck Tennis Tournament,
lectures and travel talks and a Fancy Dress Ball,
while at Sandakan and Tarakan your friends are
enjoying the novel experience of a ride through
the Virgin Jungle in search of that shy and
elusive "Wild Man of Borneo".
UNITED AMERICAN LINES
SANDAKAN is the main port in northern Borneo, which,
although one of the world's largest islands, is practically an
unknown country. It is in the region of Sarawak, under the
protection of Great Britain. Tropical verdure reaches its
zenith in the jungles outside of Sandakan. It was from one
of these that the famous wild man of Borneo was taken.
