Continental Memorial Hall is the only
building in the world built and planned by
women. It is the home of the Society of the
Daughters of the American Revolution
which has a membership of nearly 70 000
women of the purest American strain. Del-
egates come great distances yearly to attend
the Continental Congress on which occasion
the President of the United States always
greets them. It is an an incorporated body
making an annual report to the Smith-
sonian Institution and officially recognized
by the Government. The building is of
white marble and cost $350,000
