THE WATER WORKS were erected in 1902, at a cost of
$2,000,000, and have a capacity of 10,000,000 gallons a day.
15 tons of coal are burned daily and the average supply per
head for domestic purposes is 60 gallons a day. $30,000
were spent out of the earnings of the Water Department in
developing the park around the reservoir.
