The "Mormon" pioneers came to the Rocky
Mountains in 1847 under the leadership of Brig-
ham Young. At that time the western country
was a wilderness, occupied only by Indlans. To-
day, Utah with its beautiful green valleys, ma-
jestic mountains and cool, inviting canyons, its
industries and other resources, is reason enough
that for the second time in the history of the
United States the mass movement of population
is westward.
