This is the finest 18-hole golf course in the Southeast, and is located on the site of the once-famous Retreat Plantation. The Clubhouse was one of the "tabby" barns of the plantation where corn and cotton were stored. On Retreat Plantation in 1786 the first Sea Island cotton was grown in the United States.
