The Rutgers Stadium, completed in the fall
of 1938, has a seating capacity of over twenty
thousand. It is constructed of concrete and
steel, and has a completely modern field
house under the bank of stands on the right.
The track which is expected to be one of
the fastest in the country, has a 12-lane-220-
yard straightaway with eight lanes on the
curves and backstretch. The stadium is the
center piece of one of the most complete out-
door athletic plants in the country.
