GEORGE WASHINGTON-AGE 24 This portrait of young Washington, painted by J. S. Copley during Washington's visit to Boston in 1756, is one of the few that shows him with the scar on his left cheek he was known to have had. He also wears the clothes he ordered from London two years before. - Collection of L. L. Beans, 654 Stuyvesant Avenue Trenton, New Jersey.
