Work was begun in 1929 to build Italian Lake;
later the gardens and landscaping were com-
pleted, making an attractive place for visitors.
The statue,"Dance of Eternal Spring," sculpted
by Guiseppe Donato was moved here in 1971
from the Municipal Rose Garden. It had been
made for Milton S. Hershey in 1909.
