(Arancria Bidwellii)
A native of Australia, rare in Florida,
about 75 feet high with dark evergreen
leaves, maturing year round. Leaves
are really branches of 1 to 2 inches in
diameter and 18 inches long and
studded all over with scales with
needle like points. The "puzzle"
consists of making it impossible for
monkeys or others seeking to feed
upon the large nuts that grow in pine
like cones near top.
