Atlanta's Carnegie Library was the first library in the
South to receive support from municipal revenues. Its begin-
ing was in 1876, The Library has four branches, twenty de-
posit stations and deposits in eight institutions and education-
al centers. In 1915 the circulation was 375,831 volumes. (At-
