On the Frontier
LEN
Montana, SEP
Dear Friends:
Yes, there is still a frontier.
If you OM
don't believe it come with me to the vast 922
State of Montana, bigger than all New
England, New York, New Jersey and sev
eral other States added. Montana is still
largely a land of sage-brush, sage hens,
prairie dogs, coyotes and antelope. There
are vast ranches with thousands of roam-
ing cattle and horses, great droves of
sheep and large fields of alfalfa and
grain, and there are mining towns, fron-
tier settlements, and multiplied home-
steaders' cabins.
To the scattered populations of Montana
the Methodist Episcopal Home Mission.
Church stands as an oasis in a spiritual
desert. The lives of boys and girls, who
would otherwise grow up without ever
hearing a Christian sermon or attending
a Sunday school, are enriched by it, and
the hearts of mothers and fathers are
made glad.
America is still in the making out here,
and it is fortunate for all of us that the
church is being built into the very founda-
tion of our life. You are helping to make
it possible and we thank you most heartily.
Your friends
On the Frontier.
