Spanish-Colonial Room, vicinity of Santa Fe,
18th century. This room represents the interior
of a Spanish house in New Mexico, as it might
have appeared in the 18th century. It shows the
unique architecture which developed from the
blending of Spanish and Indian skills, combin-
ing the use of adobe construction with Spanish
details in woodworking and furniture. Hall of
Everyday Life in the American Past, Museum
of History and Technology, Smithsonian Insti-
tution.
