COUNTY CENTER RIVERHEAD, LONG ISLAND, N. Y. Settled about 1690, this thriving village is the county seat of Suffolk County. One of the largest and rich- est villages on eastern Long Island, Riverhead, takes its name from its situation on the Peconic River, which flows into Great Peconic Bay.
