HISTORIC LONG ISLAND: CLINTON ACADEMY stands
beautiful elm-lined Main Street in East Hampton, Long
Island, N. Y. It was the first academy of higher learning in
New York State, incorporated in 1784. Now the Museum of
Old East Hampton, it is open to the public and houses many
interesting articles of early days, such as hand made tools,
hardware and cloth, Indian relics, and even a whaleboat.
