At a joint session of Congress, members of the
House and Senate crowd around President
Reagan after his opening salvo in the "Reagan
Revolution." The President called for support
of his economic plan. "The people are watching
and waiting. They don't demand miracles but
they do expect us to act. Let us all act together."
The far-reaching budget cuts would affect the
lives of Americans from all economic groups,
but the President, as any general would do,
mobilized public opinion so well that his "game-
plan" had an excellent chance for success. Feb-
