Gerald R. Ford, our nation's 38th President
returned to his hometown, Grand Rapids, Mich-
igan for the dedication of the new $11 million
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Ford came
to office and helped restore the honor of the
American presidency from the opprobrium of
Watergate. First couples and distinguished guests
are: Row 1, Nancy Reagan, President Reagan,
President Ford, Betty Ford, Row 2, Bob Hope,
Japan's Foreign Minister Sunao Sonoda, Mexican
President Lopez Portillo, Barbara Bush, Vice
President Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Tru-
deau, former French President Giscard d'Estaing
and Lady Bird Johnson. September 17, 1981
