THE RICHMOND CO. COURT HOUSE, on the
south side of Green Street, was built in 1820; it was used as
a court house and city hall until 1892, when it was remodelled
and enlarged for court house and county purposes only. The
building cost about $200,000, and the land is valued at about
$75,000. The cenotaph in front of the Court House was erected
to the memory of Hall, Gwinett and Walton, signers of the
Declaration of Independence,
