Birthplace of Daniel Webster, 2% miles
from the Daniel Webster Highway at lower
Franklin. When built by Daniel's father,
Ebenezer Webster, in 1780 it was the first
frame house in Salisbury and the most
northern on the route to Canada. Daniel
was born here in 1782 and died at Marsh-
field, Mass., in 1852. The large Elm tree
was set out by Ebenezer Webster about 1761.
