This is the highest dam in the world. Maximum height, 348.6 feet. Width at base, 223 feet. Width at top, 16 feet. Radius of curvature, 662 feet. Length of crest, 1,100 feet. Length of spillway, 400 feet. Depth of foundation below river bed, 100 feet. Foundation covers three acres of solid rock. Lowest inspection gallery 230 feet below normal high water surface of reservoir. Volume, 610,600 cubic yards. Regulating outlets, 20 in number, each 4 feet 4 inches in diameter. Gates and accessories, 1,000 tons. Excavation for spillway, 300,000 cu. yards. Length of reservoir, 18 miles; includes both the Main River and South Fork. The water in the reservoir will cover to a depth of one foot an area of 445 sq. miles. Cost over $4,600,000.
