THE STINSON SIGHTSEER
From the Provincetown Municipal Airport on
one of the daily sightseeing flights over the
tip of Cape Cod.
Taking off to the southwest from Provincetown
Airport, you first fly over Race Point and famous
Race Point Light, the very tip of Cape Cod. Turn-
ing south your flight passes off Herring Cove
Beach and the National Seashore bathhouse, across
the Moors, the Breakwater, and over Provincetown
Harbor. To the right you see Wood End and
Long Point Lighthouses while underneath are the
fish traps and the Provincetown fishing fleet. You
can see the entire Provincetown waterfront to
your left with its quaint houses huddled along
the shore and look down on the 486 foot Pilgrim
Memorial Monument and the fish piers. Crossing
into North Truro, your flight passes over Pilgrim
Lake and the scenic sand dunes then follows the
beautiful open ocean beach back to Provincetown
Airport.
The flight is 17 miles long and takes about 12
minutes. If takeoff is made to the northeast, the
above points are seen in the reverse order. This
surely is the best way for you to see the Tip of
Cape Cod.
