NARRAGANSETT INDIANS
CHARLESTOWN, RHODE ISLAND
On the second Sunday in August the Narragansett In-
dians will celebrate their Annual August meeting at
Charlestown off Route 2. After religious services at the
Narragansett Indian church (built 1859), festivities will
include Indian dancing, rituals, and performances in
full Indian costumes. The Charlestown "Pow-Wow" is
host to many Indians from distant points in the country.
All visitors are welcome to this colorful event.
