Rifle Bayonet Practice
Additional Details:
This huge military installation, constructed for use in World War II, has been expanded and is now one of the main training bases in the nation. The Third Army training center graduates thousands of ground force trainees yearly. Many of these soldiers later qualify for Office Candidate Schools, Airborne training or specialist ratings. This view shows trainees on the bayonet course where they receive thorough instruction in the use of their close combat weapon. In the background are seen typical barracks of the enlisted personnel.
