On the Tennessee - Kentucky State Line This modern training center is complete in every detail, carefully planned and constructed for the training of Army troops for basic Infantry and support personnel. First named "Camp Campbell" in was constructed in 1942-43 and has been constantly improved. Fort Campbell is 57 miles northwest of Nashville, Tenn. The nearest cities are Clarksville, Tenn., seven miles to the south and Hopkinsville, Ky., fifteen miles to the North. Infantry, Artillery, Engineers, Armored units and other tactical Division troops team up to make a hard striking combat team at Fort Campbell.
