Ice Cave, Lava Beds and Sunset Crater

Gateway to the Scenic Wonders of Northern Arizona Sunset Crater is one of the most recent active volcanoes in this country, prehistoric Indian ruins have been found nearby buried beneath the cinders. Ice is found in this subterranean cave at all seasons of the year. This region was made a national monument in 1930 on account of its scientific interest.
