The Henry Ford Hospital was first available to
patients on October 1, 1915. During the World War
it was leased to the Government for $1.00 a year and
at that time called Base Hospital No. 36.
There are 11 buildings in the group. The largest,
which has a front of 700 feet, is of the western type of
American architecture and is so designed that all its
rooms have plenty of light and air. There are no wards
in the hospital but 600 patients may be accommodated
in the rooms.
