education and offers opportunity for specialization in agriculture and horticulture,
in home economics, in the physical and biological sciences and in the social sciences.
The scientific course affords satisfactory pre-medical training and other special oppor-
tunities exist in the fields of landscape architecture, teacher training and physical

The Graduate School offers to properly qualified students guidance in methods
of advanced study and research. Courses leading to the degrees of doctor of philos-
ophy, master of science and master of landscape architecture are available.
In the Stockbridge School of Agriculture one may secure a two-year course in
practical agriculture which provides an effective training for the various vocations
in this field. More than 1100 students have graduated from this school and have been
generally successful in the practice of their vocations.
The scientists in the Experiment Station and the Control Services seek to im-
prove the conditions of agriculture through their studies of the problems of this
important industry.
The Extension Service with agents in eleven counties of the State takes the teach-
ings of the College to the people where they live and work in its effort to promote a
better agriculture and a more satisfying rural home life.
Information concerning any of these services will be furnished gladly upon
request addressed to the Secretary, Massachusetts State College, Amherst, Mass.
