This is not an uncommon sight in Arizona and
New Mexico, for the Navaho Indians are the
principal blanket weavers in the various Indian tribes
of the Southwest. The art of blanket weaving,
among the Navahos, was probably learned from the
Pueblo Indians some three or four hundred years ago,
and the Navahos, being a shrewd, business-like
people, developed the Art until their product
became famous throughout the civilized world.
Many of their old blankets especially rival the old
Persian and Oriental rugs.
