"The Oldest Citizen of Brussels." This charming
little statue, called the Mannekin Pis, is built
into the corner of a house not far from the
Brussels Market Place. The story of the fountain
is that at the beginning of the 17th century a
little boy was lost. When his father finally found
him, he built a statute depicting the child in the
exact pose in which he was discovered.
He has all the uniforms of the Allied Countries
and he wears them on their National Day. On
the 4th of July he wears an American uniform
and medals.
