BOISE SOUTHERN PAPER MILL DeRidder, Louisiana Rising out of the pine lands five miles west of DeRidder, the Boise Southern paper mill operation began in late 1969. The mill employs 400 workers, and many times that number are involved in growing, harvesting, and transporting pine pulpwood to make the Kraft linerboard and newsprint end products.
