sitting on the lava bed near the museum
of the Ginkgo Petrified Forest near Vantage,
Washington. The Museum on the Bluff over-
looking the Columbia River houses the finest
display of petrified wood in the world. Over
200 varieties and 1500 species have been
dug from the lava beds of the park.
