| From this vantage point the visitor looks down upon huge pipes through which the world's largest pumps lift water 280 feet higher than the level of the lake behind the Grand Coulee Dam. These pipes discharge the water into a 27-mile long storage reservoir from which over a million acres of land in central Washington can be irrigated. |
