America's first Elizabethan theatre, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland, is nested in 100 acre Lithia Park at the base of the Siskiyou Mountains. It is the oldest theatre organization in the Western Hemisphere producing the plays of Shakespeare annually on the type of stage for which he wrote.
