The first streamliner operated by Diesel-Electric
Power and first to be placed into regular sche-
duled passenger service in America was delivered
to the Chic. Burlington & Quincy R.R. on Apr. 18,
1934. This train made history on May 26, 1934
when it ran nonstop from Denver to Chicago, a
distance of 1,034 miles in 13 hours, 5 Min., an
average speed of 77.5 miles per hr. At one point
it attained a maximum speed of 112.5 miles per
hr. These fine streamliners stop at Galesburg.
