PUBLIC SQUARE
CARLISLE, PENNSYLVANIA
This lovely square, deeded to the city by
Thomas Penn in 1751, is the center of several
historical places: Presbyterian Church, where
George Washington worshipped, built in 1769;
Episcopal church built in 1825; Civil War monu-
ment erected in 1872.
