This is a reproduction of one of ten photographs made before and immediately following the terrific explosion and fire that destroyed the Douglas Starch Works at 6:30 P.M. May 22, 1919, the first picture being taken about 20 minutes after the explosion. Hundreds of plate glass windows in the business district were entirely demolished, houses near the plant were badly wrecked and windows blown in. About 40 men lost their lives in this catastrophe. The ten original photographs (5x7) made by William Baylis will be mailed to you upon receipt of price, 25c each.
