Chrysler Corporation's TorqueFlite Automatic
Transmission plant on U. S. 31 By-Pass, Kokomo,
was built in 1955. Located on 158 acres of land,
the manufacturing area alone covers 16 acres
under a single roof. The plant manufactures 6
and 8-cylinder 3-speed automatic transmissions
for Chrysler-built cars.
