Looking toward REDDING, Calif. from the North
End. U. S. 99 and 299 in Sacramento Valley. The
seat of Shasta County. Redding is a modern
highway city serving an area of fruit orchards,
scattered ranches, a few mines and lumber in-
dustries.
Fifteen miles north on the Sacramento River is
the immense Shasta Dam, the largest unit in the
Central Valley irrigation project. Redding is one
of the larger cities north of Sacramento.
