PISMO BEACH PIER
The pier extends 1107 feet seaward. The original pier was
built in 1925 at a cost of $120,000 and was 1750 feet long.
On the beach clam diggers may be seen as they dig for the
Pismo Clam. The beach is one of the few that is free of rip-
tides and hundreds of swimmers play along the coast. Above
the shore is found the town of Pisom, founded in 1891 being a
part of the old Ranch Pizmo...M.P.
